Diamonds

Our diamonds

An absolute symbol of love and eternity, the diamond fascinates with its brilliance and rarity. However, we are convinced that diamonds sourced from mines do not bring any lasting benefit to society. That is why we have chosen, since 2016, to exclusively incorporate lab-grown diamonds into our jewelry creations.

King of gemstones, the diamond deserved to be enhanced by an alternative worthy of its prestige. We have thus selected lab-grown diamonds, offering the same purity, brilliance, and hardness as mined diamonds, while ensuring an ethical and responsible approach.

Diamond extraction has profound repercussions, both on the environment and on the communities that depend on it. True to our commitment to more ethical jewelry, we have extended this requirement to all of our gems, both precious and semi-precious, by sourcing exclusively from responsible suppliers.

But why?

The diamond industry has long been marred by controversial practices: exploitation of miners, funding of conflicts, money laundering, and lack of traceability. Despite the media coverage of these issues, changes remain timid, and many stones continue to come from opaque channels with disastrous human and environmental consequences.

Following these issues, the Kimberley Process was established, instituting mandatory control of the origin of diamonds to prevent the financing of conflicts through them. Nevertheless, despite the efforts made, problems still persist due to leaks in the control process.

Moreover, miners receive only a tiny portion of the money collected through intermediaries during the multiple resales of diamonds. Indeed, it is customary for diamonds to pass through many hands before reaching the final customer. Therefore, those involved in the extraction of diamonds are compensated very little compared to the final resale value.

The environmental implications are not to be overlooked and, in addition to defacing the landscape, mining operations pose real ecological problems. Deforestation, which greatly harms local wildlife as well as the planet, destroying vast areas of natural land resources, with long-term and large-scale impacts on the environment, is extremely problematic. Mining is therefore by no means ecologically neutral. Finally, the creation of greenhouse gases as well as the massive use of water to extract diamonds involves a significant disengagement from responsibility towards our planet.

What solution have we found?

Since 2016, we have been offering our customers the excellence of lab-grown diamonds, a valuable alternative that combines innovation and responsibility. The difference? These diamonds, shaped by human hands in a controlled environment, have a chemical, optical, and physical composition that is rigorously identical to that of mined diamonds. By recreating the natural conditions of formation – high pressure and extreme temperature – laboratories are able to produce gems of unparalleled purity and brilliance, without the environmental and social consequences associated with mining.

While it is often thought that a diamond from the depths of the Earth embodies a timeless romantic symbol, what is the reality? When considering the issues related to extraction – human impacts, corruption, conflict financing, and environmental harm – this vision crumbles. A diamond, no matter how beautiful, cannot fully shine if its story is marred by suffering and destruction.

By choosing lab-grown diamonds, we are betting on enlightened luxury, where each stone is a promise of transparency, ethics, and absolute beauty. Because a true jewel is one that celebrates love without compromise.

Nos pierres de culture sont optiquement, physiquement et chimiquement identiques aux diamants extraits, offrant une alternative responsable sans compromis.

Carbon emissions per carat:

  • Extracted diamonds: ~160 kg of CO₂
  • Lab-grown diamonds: ~64.8 kg of CO₂, depending on the energy source used
  • Reduced impact with renewable energy.
